What is UNIQUE?
The UNIQUE Ideas Competition at the research location in Greifswald was first held in 2006. It is part of the statewide initiative “inspired – The Ideas Competition. In MV.”, which is co-financed by the European Social Fund (ESF+) on behalf of the Ministry of Economy, Labour and Health. Participants are supported from the initial idea development through business model creation to company founding. In recent years, more than 120 research and student teams have developed startup concepts each year, leading to the establishment of over 30 companies in various fields.

During your time in the competition and also in the Fit2Start workshop, you will learn how to further develop your idea. Even after the competition, we will continue to support you with advice and assistance.
Network
We are one of the leading players in the start-up scene in Western Pomerania. We can help you better connect for your project. Additionally, in our workshops, you will meet other entrepreneurs and can build your own network.
Support
In 2024, cash and material prizes worth a total of €20,000 were awarded. Even if you don’t win a prize, you will gain valuable experience, and we will continue to support you. Additionally, you and your idea will gain more recognition – which can also help you implement your idea more effectively.
