Since 2020, the ideas competition has been organized by WITENO GmbH in close cooperation with the University of Greifswald and in collaboration with the Leibniz Institute for Plasma Science and Technology e.V. (INP) in Greifswald, the Max Planck Institute for Plasma Physics (Greifswald branch), and the Friedrich Löffler Institute, the Federal Research Institute for Animal Health, on the island of Riems.

Since 2026, the ideas competition has been called inspired, just like the state-wide competition “inspired. In MV.” However, the ideas competition in Greifswald became known as UNIQUE.

The Center for Research Funding and Transfer identifies funding opportunities for your research ideas, offers support and guidance throughout the grant application process—from the initial idea to submission—and provides individualized career development support to early-career researchers. It also serves as the central coordination and advisory office for all startup-related matters at the University of Greifswald. The ZFF’s Startup Office supports students, graduates, and staff in starting their own businesses through coaching, advising, networking, and EXIST funding.
